A well-established Canadian businessman, Darren Morgenstern, who rose to prominence as the founder of online dating service Ashley Madison, bagged quite a good amount of money at one time.

In 2016, while having an exclusive talk with the Mississauga News, he said that Ashley Madison was quite in demand. He added, “I think we spent about $10,00 [sic] at the time. We were operating only four to six months and already we had positive cash flow.”

According to Darren, Ashley Madison did so well that within four months of its service, it accumulated 550,000 subscribers (initially, it was 60,000) and served his pocket considerably. But, in the meantime, whether its earnings touched millions or not is yet a matter of curiosity.

Eventually, in 2007, Darren sold it off to Avid Life Media, and its business skyrocketed when the company’s CEO, Noel Biderman, started handling it.

Darren Morgenstern later invested in a wellness company but fell into controversy

After Ashley Madison, Darren Morgenstern ran a business incubator specializing in nutrition counseling. According to 2016 news, his teams were working on creating an app to serve overweight people who were consistently seeking healthcare professionals to maintain their overall physique.

After some time, he successfully operated a Weight Loss Rebate business and served as its director. But unfortunately, that drew him into the biggest controversy of his life.

Many of the company’s clients claimed that Weight Loss Rebate scammed them, saying, “It cheated them thousands of dollars.” Later, Darren Morgen appeared at Global News to respond to complaints and said he was not a scammer.

Darren began this company with his wife, Marissa Mayles Morgenstern, who supported him in every business venture, including Ashley Madison.

However, after Weight Loss Rebate accumulated negative client reviews, it eventually canceled its service, citing a ‘public relations crisis.’ With this, Darren must have endured a great loss financially, there’s no doubt.

Further, what he is up to today is yet under media radar, but his established agency, Ashley Madison, is currently in the limelight for its Netflix documentary.
