Tajon Buchanan and Kadeisha Buchanan are Canadian professional soccer players from Brampton, Ontario, who fans confuse as siblings; however, they might share some similarities, but they are not related.

Kadeisha Buchanan plays center-back for Chelsea, an English Women’s Super League club, and the Canada women’s national team.

She was named Canadian Player of the Year thrice in 2015, 2017, and 2020.

Furthermore, Kadeisha won the Young Player Award in the 2015 FIFA World Cup.

On the other hand, Tajon Buchanan plays as a wide midfielder, full-back, and winger for the Serie A club Inter Milan and the Canada national team.

Known for his speed and technical ability, Tajon became Serie A’s first-ever Canadian player.

Tajon was the 2020 Canada Soccer Youth International Player of the Year and won the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup Young Player Award.

Since both players are major contributors in their arena and belong to the Jamaican heritage, speculations have been raised about their possible familial connection.

Although Tajon and Kadeisha Buchanan have shared Jamaican roots, they belong to diverse family

Both Tajon and Kadeisha Buchanan have their ancestry in Jamaica, but the players come from different familial backgrounds.

Kadeisha Buchanan was born in Toronto to Jamaican parents; her father was originally from Saint Thomas Parish, and her mother, Melsadie Tate, was from Montego Bay, Jamaica.

However, her father was absent during her childhood, so Melsadie raised Kadeisha as a single mother in a large family with 11 siblings.

Kadeisha is the youngest of 7 girls in the Buchanan family.

Talking about Tajon Buchanan’s family, he was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario, to Jamaican parents.

Although there is very little information available about Tajon’s parents, his father, David, passed away when he was seven years old.

Tajon moved to Colorado at age 15 to the house of his best friend’s father (his former coach), Chrys Chrysanthou.
