The 27-year-old singer-songwriter revealed that her mother was abused by a man when she was a child, and watching her mother suffering from past trauma would really hurt Rett as she said, “I’d spent a year carrying rage towards that man.

She was consumed with anger and poisonous thoughts that were inescapable, and then she found a way to release her trauma by honoring her anger and putting it in song.

Further, in her song One For Jackie and One For Crystal, Madison wishes to go back in time and k**l her mother’s abuser.

Multi-instrumentalist Rett Madison was born to American parents in West Virginia on January 30, 1997. She grew up in a Catholic family and follows the Christian religion.

Rett’s mother is Jackie Madison, whom she lost when she was still young, while there are no details available about her father.

Futher, the trauma she experienced after the loss of her mother inspired her to write songs.

She revealed that her mother was struggling with mental illness, PTSD, and substance addictions due to her abuse.

Watching her mother suffer every single day also made her depressed, and she started having a hard time managing her emotions.

Further, Rett Madison also revealed that her partner, Wes O’Connor, helped her in the grieving process.

Later, she learned to manage her emotions instinctively through songwriting, which helped her become a great singer.

With heartfelt gratitude, she expressed, “I wouldn’t be celebrating this signing today if it weren’t for the support of my parents.

Further, she also revealed that her school teachers admired her voice and inspired her to sing on the platforms and stage.
