American baseball players Nico Hoerner and Bob Hoerner do not come from the same family!

Nico Hoerner and Bob Hoerner are both famous baseball players from America who often get confused as father and son due to their similar surnames and professions.

However, the players’ family background shows that Nico Hoerner and Bob Hoerner are not related to each other.

The 66-year-old player Bob Hoerner, aka James Robert Horner, was born in 1957 in Junction City, KS, and later moved to Glendale, Arizona. There, he attended Apollo High School while also pursuing his baseball career.

On the other hand, 27-year-old young player Nico Hoerner, whose full name is Nicholas Mackie Hoerner, was born on May 13, 1997, in Oakland, California.

His father, Fred Hoerne, was an educator, and his mother, Keila Diehl, still works for the University of California, Berkeley. He also has a sister named Annika.

Nico Hoerner and Bob Hoerner were both stars of the MLB

In 1978, Bob Hoerner, a professional baseball third baseman and first baseman for Major League Baseball, was named National League Rookie of the Year.

Bob is famous for his power-hitting. On July 6, 1986, he made history in MLB by hitting four home runs in one game.

He also set school records at Apollo High School and became the first player to win the Golden Spikes Award during his education at Arizona State University.

On the other hand, Nico Hoerner earned the title of Cape Cod Baseball League all-star in 2017 when he batted .301, scored six home runs, had 30 RBIs, 16 stolen bases, and eight doubles.

He started playing baseball in high school and later joined Stanford University to play college baseball for the Cardinals.

Now, he is actively playing for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball as a middle infielder, whereas Bob Hoerner is a retired player.

Bob revealed his retirement reason, claiming he wants to focus on his family. Since his retirement in 1989, he has lived with his family in Irving, Texas.
