The Monday trial on July 1, 2024, on the defendant Karen Read’s case has taken a new turn. Text messages exchanged between colleagues and family, highlighting the lead investigator, Michael Proctor’s words, have led to a mistrial with him being relieved of his duty.
Michael’s code of conduct has become a major concern, as many believe the investigation has loopholes and claim that he manipulated evidence and failed to investigate the case properly.
Colonel John Mawn Jr. immediately released a statement about Micahel’s transfer from the Massachusetts State Police Detective’s Unit at Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, which will be effective from July 7, 2024.
However, amidst all this was the devoted wife of Michael Proctor, Elizabeth Proctor, who, despite looking at her husband’s texts about Karen Read, said she fully supports him.

Ever since Karen Read’s case came into the spotlight in 2022 after the death of her boyfriend, Officer John O’Keefe, Michael Proctor had to go through everything with his wife holding the sympathy card.
Although Michael and Elizabeth have not revealed their relationship timelines, they seem to have been together for over 10 years.

It is a guess, given they are parents to two sons whose names are unknown at the moment, and it is also better to keep it a secret as the minors should be safe from all the harsh words from the world.
However, it seems people have dragged Michael’s family into this mess, as Elizabeth once uploaded stories about the crisis the case and social media brought them.
She mentioned that for the past 14 months, they became a victim of continuous vile messages with photos of their home and their children.
People would blame Elizabeth and Michael for being horrible parents and curse that their children get cancer. They even said the parents should take their own lives, which eventually turned into online harassment.

She also mentioned that she is proud of her husband. As an LE family, the difficulty was obvious, mainly for an officer working in the homicide unit.
However, this took a relatively violent turn as the children got involved in such trash. Even today, after the trial on July 1, 2024, reporters went to their lawn for an interview, which Michael refused and told the media to stay away from his family.
