Recently, before the grand finale, the Dutch musician Joost Klein was booted from the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. The show announced he was disqualified following one of the crew members’ complaints against him, and the case eventually came under the law.

Soon after, the news of his dismissal swirled over the internet like a fire, and many of his well-wishers backed him, calling his axing ‘inappropriate.’

People then took to Twitter to support Joost and even hashtagged Eurovision to let Joost perform in the final.

Moreover, a person named escxlove even tweeted, considering him the people’s winner. He wrote, “The people’s winner, his parents’ biggest pride, the price of the netherlands, Mr. Europapa, and Mr. Boom boom, Joost Klein. RT to scare the EBU.JusticeForJoost #Eurovision2024.”

Well, Joost obviously couldn’t become the winner of Eurovision, but the abundant support he received shows that he succeeded in winning people’s hearts through his performances, don’t you think?

Joost Klein’s entry song in Eurovision was dedicated to his late parents!

During the second semi-final episode of Eurovision, Joost Klein captivated people’s attention by singing a song entitled Europapa. He sang this song as a tribute to his late parents, specifically his dad.

The 26-year-old Dutch rapper always aspired to make his parents proud, whom he lost very early in his life. He was 12 when his father passed away of cancer, and a year later, his mom also left him. She had a cardiac arrest.

Losing parents at such an early age must have been difficult for Joost, there’s no doubt. However, he turned his grief into motivation and continually worked on his father’s dream, which is said to be his entry into Eurovision.

In May 2024, he shared his parents’ picture on his Instagram with a heartfelt caption that said, “I hope you can see me shine.” Hopefully, his wish will be fulfilled in the near future, though his present circumstances are unfavorable.
