Draft Shark’s evaluation suggests that Georgia-born quarterback Justin Fields has about an 86.6% chance of injury in 2024.
He has had a long history of injuries over the past half-decade of his playing career. As per records, he first had a knee injury on November 30, 2019, while playing for Ohio State at Michigan.
At the time, his ligament was moderately damaged, but instead of that, he managed to show his presence in the next game. Two years later, during Ohio State’s Sugar Bowl semifinal matchup vs. Clemson, Justin had a Chest Rib Sprain.
Then, in 2020, the ligament of his right thumb stretched out beyond the limits during the Big Ten Championship. Likewise, in the next couple of years of his NFL career, Justin suffered groin soreness, multiple cracked ribs, and shoulder joint separation.
Justin Fields lost four straight games after his right thumb got dislocated in 2023
While sources report that Football quarterbacks are not so prone to injury, Justin Fields is an exceptional case.
After debuting as an NFL player, Justin has already faced about five injuries, including the hand thumb dislocation he got during week 6 against the Vikings on October 15, 2023.
After that, everyone seemed to be quite doubtful about Justin’s return. In this regard, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer had said, “Lot of times when you dislocate a thumb, it pops out….Pop out and pop back in… it’s just a matter of getting strength back, could be [Justin Fields] just missing this week and maybe next week.”
Just as stated, Justin Fields, who was playing for the Chicago Bears at the time, missed four consecutive games. He finally returned to the field against the Detroit Lions in November 2023.
Now, he is a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the team recently declined Justin as the fifth-year option for the position.
