The once charming girl Princess of Bulgaria and daughter of King Tsar Simeon II, Kalina, made everyone talk about her after the transformation in her face and nose, evident in her recent appearance on the repatriation of the body of Ferdinand I of Bulgaria.
Princess Kalina previously made everyone think that she had botched plastic surgery, and she received much criticism for her noticeably changed nose.
It was not until Princess Kalina’s husband, Antonio José (Kitin) Muñoz Valcárcel, came forward to banish the rumor about his wife, revealing the truth.

Kitin mentioned that Princess Kalina of Bulgaria had misfortune since childhood as she lost two teeth at the age of 8, followed by jaw surgery, which led to a clinical accident when her dentist drilled too deep while she was getting a crown.
Following the incident, an infection appeared on her nasal cartilage, implying a need for nose surgery in 1999.
Many compared the before and after photos of Princess Kalina’s transformation to prove that it is due to botched surgery, but it is definitely due to health issues, not plastic surgery.

However, an accident took a toll on her eye and nose in 2000 when Princess Kalina of Bulgaria suffered from an infection during an expedition to an open sea with her husband.
Due to a lack of urgency and emergency medical treatment, her nose and eyesight became the major treatment priority.
