The American actress and comedian Amanda Seales has always been vocal about her parents, especially her mother, Annette Seales, with whom she shares a close bond.
Annette Seales was born and raised in Mt. Mortiz, Grenada. She later moved to America after marrying Amanda’s father. So, she holds citizenship from both the US and Grenada.
However, controversy is ongoing because of a Facebook post by Biracial Awareness, which blatantly claims that Amanda Seales’ mother is East Indian.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time Amanda Seales has faced confusion regarding her parents.
Nevertheless, as per Amanda’s words, the post seems untrue.
Also, it is visible in Annette’s post, that she promotes Grenada and the Grenadian flag through most of Amanda’s achievements, to not forget her roots.
Amanda Seales has Black parents and a sister, but her father was never there for her!
Recently, Amanda Seales opened up about her parents and cleared the confusion everyone had about her ethnicity and her mother coming from a white background.
In the Club Shay Shay episode on April 24, 2024, Amanda got riled up when Shannon Sharpe mistakenly said, “Your mom is white,” to which the comedian instantly corrected by saying, “My mom is not white.“

Although Annette holds dual citizenship, she is from the West Indies and of Black ethnicity.
Amanda Seales refers to her mother as a supportive parent anyone can desire.
She said, “She’s a single parent; she’s trying to figure it out, but I really just thank my mom…She was able to still let me be who I am instead of beating it out of me.“
On the other hand, her father, whose name remains a mystery, is an African-American who grew up in Boston.
Amanda recalls not having a father from an early age, which eventually turned out for the best. She says if her father had been there, she would not be who she is today.
Also, Amanda Seales implies that both her parents are Black, halting any controversy regarding the matter.
Surprisingly, Amanda Seales has a sister, Nada Mays, who is blood-related by the same father.
It is clear from her Instagram post with the caption, “In light of the horrific events that have unfolded in the past week, I’m bringing back our episode with my blood sister (same father) Nada Mays… a first generation American descendant of Palestinian refugees.“
Nada Mays is a Balck and Palestinian nutritionist and professional chef based in Philadelphia, who is also a mother to a year-old daughter.
