An English actress, Ella Purnell, was a child when her parents, Simon Reid and Suzy Purnell, parted ways. Soon after, both of them married another person.
Her father moved on with his second wife, Isabella Peterson Reid, with whom he later welcomed three sons. The family settled down in Fulham. Likewise, Ella’s mother also remarried and began her new life in east London.
Since her parents separated very early, Ella Purnell grew up with her mother and stepfather in east London near Canary Wharf.
Once, during an exclusive talk with CN Traveller, she spoke about her upbringing and said, “I was born and raised here in London. My dad lives in Chelsea, and my mum is east. It’s my home.”
Ella also mentioned that her stepmom is Swedish, and because of that relationship, she often visited that part of the world.

Beginning as a child actor, Ella Purnell has achieved much at 27 with over 30 acting credits. Of course, the Whitechapel native Ella Purnell got support from her parents to enter the movie business. But they were not associated with it.
Regarding the matter, Ella told The Last Magazine, “My mom is a yoga teacher, and my dad does something that requires him to wear a suit.” Well, she means her dad, Scottish by nationality, is a businessman.
However, growing up with her mother, who often enjoyed acting as a fun activity, made Ella interested in movies.
In an interview with Crash, she discussed her very first acting experience and said, “I got my first advert when I was nine. Before that I was doing auditions and baby modelling things.”
Ella added, “It was always something I did with my mum for fun and I met all my friends that way.”
Now, her whole family is super proud of her for her accomplishments, especially her dad. On September 17, while wishing her a happy birthday, her father, Simon, wrote, “Happiest of birthdays @ella purnell xxx.”
Since Ella lived far from her dad, her mom became the one who always stood by her side in her every thick and thin situation.
At the age of 15 or 16, Ella Purnell suffered from anxiety. And her mom discovered it first, which helped her to learn about mental health on a broad spectrum.
She once said, “I started self-harming and did that for a long time until my mum caught me, and I started to learn about it [mental health].”
So, it’s justifiable to say that whatever Ella Purnell has attained until today wouldn’t have been possible without her parents.
