At one point, Sugarland fans lost all hope, assuming the band would fall apart after the shocking departure of its third member, Kristen Hall, which happened in 2005.

However, 2024 came as a hit for Sugarland as they collaborated with the band Little Big Town for the 2024 CMT Music Awards.

The band is also set for its Take Me Home Tour, co-ordinating with Little Big Town from October 24 to December 13, 2024. Sugarland will be led by Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles.

On the other hand, Hall hardly released any music after leaving the band, but suddenly, she appeared, demanding her one-third share of the band’s profit.

She sued Nettles and Bush, claiming they cut her from her fair share and demanded $1.5 million, plus attorney’s fees.

Later, when the case was about to go to trial, she demanded $14 million again. They settled out of court but never publicly revealed the settlement terms.

The reunion of Sugarland and Little Big Town happened after over a decade

The band Sugarland was formed in 2002 with the three-member Kristian Bush, Kristen Hall, and Jennifer Nettles.

The band initially enjoyed popularity and success. Its debut single, Baby Girl, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, the highest-charting debut single for a country group in 13 years at that time.

However, their success did not last long as the cold war between the group members started emerging, leading one to leave the band.

Kristen Hall’s exit was announced shortly after Nettles and Bush attended The Tonight Show With Jay Leno without Hall.

In a joint statement, they announced, “Kristen has decided that she wants to stay home and write songs, and we support her in that decision.”

Even after her departure, the duo continued releasing songs and albums. The song Stay from their first album, Enjoy the Ride, which was released after Hall’s departure, won a Grammy in 2008.

After the rough years, the band went down for a while, taking some breaks; however, in 2024, it again rose with new hope and courage.

The wild reunion of the two big country music bands, Sugarland and Little Big Town, happened at the 2024 at CMT Music Awards.

The reunion took place after over a decade, as the last time they shared a stage was in 2008. Previously, they also collaborated in 2015 with the song, Life In A Northern Town.

Grammy-winning musical duo Sugarland seemed very happy to announce a performance and joint tour with Little Big Town.

They shared a post on Twitter saying, “Excited to be sharing the stage with our longtime friends @littlebigtown tonight on the #CMTawards, as well as announcing our new song and tour together!”

The joint tour will kick off in Greenville, South Carolina, and end at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

However, amid the delightful moments of the Sugarland and Little Big Town reunion, many fans are digging into Sugarland’s past breakdown as they question what happened to the third member, Kristen Hall.

Additional Information

  • Many people assume Sugarland collapsed, which is not true. They took a break for a while and then returned to work.
  • The original members of the Sugarland are Kristian Bush, Kristen Hall, and Jennifer Nettles.
  • Sugarland took a break from their career after experiencing a hard time when the third member, Kristen Hall, exited from the group. However, the band has again started producing songs and albums.
