Vinod Kambli, who was once compared to cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, amassed a significant net worth of $1.5 million throughout his prime.

However, his career was filled with both alarming lows and significant highs, which ultimately affected his public image and financial status.

During his cricket career, Kambli played as a left-handed middle-order batsman. His career batting average of 54 was the highest for an Indian test cricketer.

Since 2019, he has appeared as a commentator on various television channels, worked as a cricket expert with a Marathi news channel, and appeared on various reality shows and Bollywood films.

Despite Kambli’s involvement in various fields, he revealed his financial struggles, saying that his monthly salary had decreased to just 30,000 IC, which he receives from BCCI as a pension.

Vinod Kambli struggled to walk properly on camera, alarming fans about his health

Along with his financial struggles, Kambli seems to be having health issues, as revealed by a viral video where he was being helped to his feet by passers-by.

Previously, the 52-year-old has had several health issues ranging from angioplasty for blocked arteries to a fatal cardiac arrest while driving in Mumbai. In the viral video, Kambli seems intoxicated, which further raises questions about his relationship with alcohol.

Further, his retirement from the sports world could result directly from unfit health and other undisclosed issues.

Some even assume the reason is his failure in the 1996 World Cup when he broke down on the field after losing during the first semi-final against Sri Lanka.

After failing in business after cricket, Kambli maintained a secret life, which strained his net worth in the sports world.

Despite having an unbroken partnership with Sachin Tendulkar on the field, Kambli couldn’t achieve the same heights due to his health problems.

As his video raises concerns among fans, they have urged Tendulkar to take good care of his closest friend during this difficult time.

To show their support for Kambli, one of his fans wrote, “Dear Sachin sir please help your friend. Your one phone can do a lot of support for him. Can’t imagine Vinod Kambli in such a poor condition.”
