The professional ice hockey player Vincent Trocheck says that family is everything to him, whether it’s his grandmother, wife, parents, and children in his home or his fellow teammates. His words follow: “I’m a big family guy. It’s what I know.“
Vincent Trocheck is of mixed ethnicity, with an Italian grandmother and American parents, Rita Trocheck and Vincent Trocheck Sr., who have shaped his character.
He has a big Italian family as his grandmother had a total of 8 brothers and sisters, while his mother, Rita, had two brothers and a sister.
They would all gather around to enjoy Vincent’s grandmother’s Italian delicacies as she believes in passing family-centric values to her siblings, children and grandchildren, prevalent in Italian culture.
Going back to the roots of Vincent Trocheck and the story of his family
Vincent Trocheck is a 30-year-old American ice hockey center, born on July 11, 1993, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Rita and Vincent Trocheck Sr.
He calls himself a person with a mixed cultural background, all because of his Italian heritage from his grandmother.
However, Vincent’s parents later moved to the United States, where he was born. Thus, Vincent Trocheck is American by nationality, which seems the same as his parents.
He is also the elder brother to two of his sisters: Desiree Trocheck, who is with her partner Bryan, and Nina Trocheck, whose personal details remain unknown.
As a matter of fact, when Vincent’s sister Desiree had her first child, Rita was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2017, at 50.
The coincidence was Rita’s mother, aka Vincent’s grandmother, too had been diagnosed with colon cancer just a few months after Rita’s diagnosis, at 80.
Thankfully, both the mother-daughter duo are fine as of 2024. She is happily living with Vincent’s wife, Hillary Trocheck, whom he married on July 29, 2019.
The couple has two children: son Leonardo, born June 27, 2018, and daughter Lennon, born October 17, 2020.
