Yura Varybrus was born in November 2007 to a Ukrainian father, Ihor Varybrus, and an english mother, Julia Varybrus.
The 17-year-old was raised in two different ethnic backgrounds and had separate religious beliefs.

Yura Varybrus mostly lived with his family in Sussex, England, and completed his schooling there.
Further, he often went on holiday to Ukraine to meet his father’s family, whose details are not public yet. Similarly, no information is available about his brother and sister.

During his trial of Charlie Cosser’s homicide case, the Daily Mail revealed that Yura Varybrus had a difficult childhood after his parents separated.
After the divorce, her mother married another man and started living with her new partner in Surrey, whereas his father, Ihor Varybrus, lived in West Sussex.
As per his attorney, his early childhood experience and the environment built up his aggressive and impulsive behaviors.

Futher, even Yura Varybrus’s headteacher, Ms. Jones, who had come to give her testimony regarding his behaviors, stated, “The report said he was a good student who could show care for others, but he was very impulsive and could get into trouble for silly incidents.“
Further, she added, “He was always accepting of punishment for incidents and never trying to sway the outcome.“
The Ukrainian English Yura Varybrus native proved guilty of taking the life of 17-year-old teenager Charlie Cosser on 23 July 2024.
The incident took place in Warnham, West Sussex, where both teenagers had attended a party and, after getting into an argument, Yura reportedly grabbed the knife and ended his life.
As he was 16 when he committed the crime, he only received minor charges and was ordered to serve at least 16 years at Brighton Crown Court.

Further, they might have sent him to a training school or reformatory as he is a juvenile who will turn 18 in November 2024.
In court, Yura Varybrus’s father said that Yura and the whole family were guilty.
After their divorce, there was no one to look after him properly, and he did not get much guidance and support when he was struggling in childhood.
