Neiman Marcus‘ much anticipated The Art of Fashion is back with its Fall 2012 lookbook. The campaign, which debuted over 20 years ago, revolutionized the traditional mindset toward fashion of both retailer and consumer. No longer is fashion treated as just garments, they are presented as pieces of art; work to be appreciated beyond function.
The youngest photographer to take on the famed campaign, The Art of Fashion Fall 2012 Campaign debuts the work of Erik Madigan Heck.
Best summed up as a romantic conceptualist, in search of resonant decrepitude. His work remains in between a paradoxical bravura and delirious state of historical melancholy.
The fine line between art and photography are blurred as Heck’s camera paints a portrait of high fashion that is beyond page-worthy. Two original Erik Madigan Heck prints from The Art of Fashion portfolio will be auctioned October 20th in conjunction with the Two x Two for AIDS and Art, a 13-year-old Dallas event that has raised over $34 million for the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) and the Dallas Museum of Art Contemporary Art Acquisitions Fund.
