The July 2015 breach of users’ sensitive information registered with Ashley Madison was historical. Noel Biderman, then CEO of Avid Life Media Inc., the parent company of Ashley Madison, received messages from hackers to delete the site but ignored them, leading to the leak.
Consequently, the customers filed a $576 million class-action lawsuit against Ashley Madison in August 2015, the same month Noel Biderman resigned.
Later, in 2017, the parent company settled to pay $11.2 million for 37 million users who were data leak victims.

Noel was on his career break then, as his LinkedIn shows his hiatus extended from August 2015 to September 2016.
He resumed his career as the CEO of Avenue Insights, a Toronto-based software company, in November 2016 and still holds the position as of 2024.
Noel also explored various career prospects, such as serving on the Board of Directors of The Flowr Corporation. As of January 2023, he is also a Board Member and Strategic Advisor at WonderFi.
Ashley Madison’s data breach may not have affected Noel Biderman and his wife Amanda’s relationship
Born in 1971, Noel Biderman is Jewish by birth, as his grandparents were holocaust survivors but a native of Toronto, Ontario.
He married his wife Amanda Biderman, who is also Jewish, in 2003 and shared two children with her. She is originally from South Africa and has experience in marketing.
Amanda had often appeared together with her husband in the past in various shows and interviews.
Her words always supported Noel and his endeavor in Ashley Madison. She said that Ashley Madison had strengthened the couple and she would be devasted if her partner cheated before the data breach in 2015.
Shockingly, when the leak happened, the data also had emails of Noel Biderman, containing his approach to infidelity as he looked for escorts.
This was the complete opposite of what he said, that he would be devasted to see his wife Amanda on the site when he himself was cheating on her.

However, the story remains unclear about how the couple tackled the situation and what Amanda said afterward.
One thing is sure: Noel Biderman and Amanda Biderman are still together, according to Noel’s spokesperson, in the Netflix docuseries Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal.
Noel said he “remains a committed husband and father” at the documentary’s end, annihilating the heated rumors that Noel and Amanda had a divorce.
