Given the musical prodigy nature of Nemo Mettler, many thought their parents might have been pushy.
But, to everyone’s surprise, the Swiss rapper Nemo revealed his parents weren’t particularly pushy, and instead, they opted for a hand-off parenting approach.
To which mother Nadja added, “I don’t think we were either,” in an interview with Tages-Anzeiger, a German national daily newspaper.
Despite the hand-off approach, Nemo’s mother said she was happy when her son chose a musical career as she once wanted to pursue it herself but could not.
Nemo Mettler’s parents, Markus Mettler and Nadja Schnetzler were happy their son got into music instead of football!
The Swiss rapper Nemo Mettler was born to their parents, Markus Mettler and Nadja Schnetzler, on August 3, 1999. Nemo Mettler has a younger sister, Ella, and the siblings grew up in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland.
Nemo’s father, Markus, is an entrepreneur who has worked on thousands of innovative projects. He founded BrainStore in 1989 with his wife, Nadja. However, the company went bankrupt in 2011. Markus has also authored a book, The Innovator’s Handbook.
According to BrainStore’s official site, Marcus was born in 1966 and raised in the Eastern part of Switzerland.
On the other hand, Nemo’s mother, Nadja Schnetzler, is also an innovation expert. She was born in 1972 and raised in Mexico City and Switzerland. She founded Word and Deed and is co-founder of Project R and Republik.
Talking to Tages-Anzeiger, Nadja said she was the daughter of a church musician and music school director. So she herself once dreamed of becoming a singer, but backed out thinking it might not pay her enough.
But, to her surprise, Nemo chose music over football and fulfilled her musical dream. And that’s not it! Nemo even bagged the Eurovision 2024 with their hit single, The Code.
Nadja, the proud mother, took to the Instagram before the finale, “Nemo! You have already won!” Little did she know that Nemo would come victorious that night.
