Many rock music enthusiasts may be well aware of the fact that Marilyn Manson’s real name is Brian Hugh Warner.

Brian adopted the moniker ‘Marilyn Manson’ as his stage name, merging the first name of an iconic actress, Marilyn Monroe, and the last name of an infamous criminal, Charles Manson.

Regarding the matter, Marilyn once talked in his autobiography, stating, “The balance between good and evil and the choices we make between them are probably the single most important aspects shaping our personalities and humanity…

Well, Marilyn somehow appears to be inspired by the cult leader Charles and probably finds him justifiable in representing his demon side. Besides that, Marilyn Manson and Charles Manson are not related to each other by any means.

Netizens once mistook Charles Manson with Marilyn Manson; what caused that?

On November 12, 2017, the cult leader and musician Charles Manson bid a last goodbye to the living world. After his passing, many tweeted expressing their condolences for Charles.

On November 20, a Twitter user named Paul F. Tompkins wrote, “RIP Charles Manson, he’s finally not getting into that great rock & roll band in the sky.”

Likewise, another wrote RIP for Charles but unfortunately posted Marilyn’s picture, showcasing that he couldn’t differentiate between the two individuals.

In the meantime, music enthusiasts mourned for the singer Marilyn; some even wrote, “I loved ur music.”

To this date, the reason why people mistook Marilyn for Charles is yet to be discovered but as far as we can ascertain, it must have happened due to the same surname they hold.

Before dying, Charles Manson buzzed the media, writing an insane letter to Marilyn Manson!

More than a decade ago, several media outlets reported that Charles Manson sent a handwritten letter to Marilyn from inside the prison.

Not only that, they even disseminated the picture of Charles’ letter online which seemed quite insane at the time and still is.

But, some of the phrases, like, “What you did a sing-along, and let it roll and said how you saved me a lot of steps – I don’t need, it’s not a need or a want…,” appear to showcase his appreciation for Marilyn.

You might not be aware that the famous cult leader tried his best to pursue his career in music in the late 1960s. He even released some music, but unfortunately, he couldn’t make it.

During the 1990s, Marilyn engraved Charles’ legacy in the music world, including the lyrics of his song Mechanical Man in his band’s debut studio album, Portrait of an American Family.

Likewise, Marily made Charles immortal by adopting his surname, which may have caused Charles to write a letter to him.
