On June 13, 2024, Thursday evening, a mother, Jennifer Newkirk, and her son, Khaden Newkirk, lost their life in a tragic car accident that took place near Hartsville, South Carolina.
Jennifer Frederick Newkirk, who is also known as the First Lady at Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church, was 45 years old.
She was married to Dr. Rico A. Newkirk, a pastor in the same Baptist church. Her husband is also a teacher at Stover Middle School.
The couple had three children, including their teenage son, Khaden Newkirk, who was also a church member.

Neither the community nor the church has revealed the reason behind the tragic accident of the Newkirk family.
However, they have united together to support them emotionally and financially.
Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church provides financial support to the Newkirk family
The Newkirk family had maintained a close relationship with the Baptist Church since they had been members there for a long time.
Further, after their loss, the church released a tribute post through their official Instagram account, gospelartistentofficial.
In the post, uploaded on June 15, 2024, they shared they were shattered by losing their beloved members. While mourning their loss, they said, “This heartbreaking event has brought an outpouring of grief and support from the community, church members, and beyond.“
Similarly, the executive board and officer members also offered sincere condolences to the victims and their family members.
Further, the community and church have decided to provide financial support to her family, as they want to ensure that their lives continue smoothly even after Jennifer Newkirk’s demise.
Similarly, they planned a memorial service for Saturday, June 22, at the Lees Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
