Executive Director of Greater Charlotte Rise, Jasmine Sherman, has been a member of the Green Party for over eight years since they joined in 2016.

The 39-year-old candidate Jasmine Sherman shared their experience in the Green Party, claiming it is filled with racist people who mistreat people of color.

They said, “Because they’re full of racists, they just ask the Black members to keep their secrets, right?” during their interview with Whole Community News in April 2024.

They also mentioned that neither party cares about helping people nor wants to make any changes.

Meanwhile, Jasmine Sherman has run for presidency with the goal of helping at-risk and vulnerable communities by providing guaranteed housing, land back, universal basic income, free education, and universal healthcare, as reported on their official website, jasminesherman.com.

Jasmine Sherman thinks their ethnicity and sexuality might make it harder to win the presidency

Even though Jasmine Sherman of North Carolina has stood up to fight for the sake of the party, they have doubts that their appearance and sexuality as a queer might become a significant barrier.

Jasmine Sherman said to Whole Community News that “Life isn’t fair, and I’m Black, and I’m fat, and I’m queer, I don’t have time to try to do what they’re doing and run for president.

However, despite all the possibilities, with a bit of hope and support, they have continued raising funds, which are targeted at $300K.

As Jasmine Sherman is queer, most of their base supporters include young people who had helped them to get to the 10th position out of the thousands of people running for president.

Similarly, Jasmine has always supported the LGBTQ+ community, and they would also ask them to join the Green party.

However, they would deny it as the Green Party’s people have issues with trans people and claimed it was not a safe place for them.
