Andrea Bocelli began his passion for music at the early age of six
Despite being born visually impaired due to congenital glaucoma, Bocelli developed his passion and love for music from a very young age, and music was the only thing that would comfort him.
Andrea’s musical talent was evident from a young age. He began piano lessons at 6 and quickly learned other instruments, including the flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, and drums, showcasing his early dedication to music.
Likewise, a record of famous Italian tenor Franco Corelli, provided by his Andrea Bocelli nanny Oriana to him, inspired him to pursue his career as a tenor. By age 7, he was able to recognize the famous voices of great singers.
Unfortunately, at the age of 12, Bocelli completely lost his vision after being hit in the eye with a football. Doctors used several methods, including resorting through leeches, to save his sight, but despite their efforts, they were unsuccessful.
However, despite the tragic loss of his sight at 12, Andrea’s passion for music and his dream of becoming a successful tenor remained constant. From 1992 to date, he has established himself as one of the greatest tenors, winning numerous honors and awards for outstanding performances.
