Haliey Welch, the young woman who became an internet sensation for her “hawk tuah” moment, revealed in a podcast that the comedian Matt Rife was the man of her dreams, whom she finally got to meet!
During her appearance on Whitney Cummings’s weekly podcast Good For You, she was told that as she had now become an internet sensation, it was the perfect time to reach out to her celebrity crushes.
Welch then revealed that she had a crush on the actor and comedian Matt Rife. Cummings then proceeded to face-time Rife, who is her close friend.
Cummings told Rife on the phone, “I asked Haley about her celebrity crush, and it’s you,” and showed the phone to Welch.

As soon as Matt Rife saw Hawk Tuah girl, she covered her face, and then they engaged in some awkward flirting. They greeted one another and asked how they were.
When Welch asked Rife how he was, he said, “I am doing better now.” Then, Cummings exclaimed, “Why am I blushing?“
Then, Rife asked Welch her age, and she revealed she was 21. Following a series of flirty exchanges, Matt Rife invited Hawk Tuah to one of his shows.
He asked, “I’m in Nashville on August 24th doing Bridgestone Arena, do you want to come out?” To which she agreed.
He then asked if she preferred to be in the front row or off to the side, like backstage. She responded with a smirk, saying, “Put me back there with you, my boy.”
She couldn’t stop blushing throughout their conversation, and as soon as he hung up, she quipped, “Go get the damn bucket and mop right now. My face is on fire!“
Finally, on the said date, Rife and Welch met, making her dream come true. She posted pictures of her backstage shenanigans with the comedian and captioned it, saying he was everything she dreamed of.
Fans went gaga over the photos, among which one showed her spitting on his palm and him rubbing it like a sanitizer.

It just doesn’t end there. Rife also appears to be looking out for her, as in an interview with Jon Youshaei, the host asked him what advice he had for her.
Rife warned her that things could go downhill very fast if she was not careful, and he advised her to be responsible and make good business decisions.
He also noted that he had heard that she wanted to do a reality show and encouraged her to pursue it.
The comedian talked about how he hated the entertainment industry and the internet for doing what it does to everyone who gets success.
Matt Rife added that they love to build people up just the way they love to tear them down. The comedian reiterated, “Cash in, get a check, buy your mom a house, get a fun car for yourself, but just be responsible.”
