Roustan has kept his family and personal life away from the media, which might be due to his risky profession as a French journalist.
Before pursuing his journalism career, Roustan was a footballer who played for AS Cannes as a youth footballer. However, at the age of 17, they suspended him after an altercation with a trainer.
At age 18, he joined TF1 for an internship, where he worked for over 13 years on the TF1 football program Téléfoot. He then started commenting on matches as a sportscaster.
His last commentary match was between Argentina and Canada at the 2024 Copa América. In addition to sportscasting, he ran a blog and weekly podcast called Roustan Foot.
