Since Bill Cobbs and Bill Cosby share a similar name and belong to the same film fraternity, people often mistook them as the same person, and so happened recently when the passing news of Cobbs emerged in the media.
Actor Cobbs passed away on June 25 at his residence in Riverside, California, but people mixed it up with Bill Cosby.
On June 27, a Twitter User named Philip Lewis broke the passing news of Night at the Museum actor Cobbs, on Twitter writing, “Bill Cobbs, an actor who appeared in over 120 television shows and movies since the 1970s, has died. He was 90.”
Referring to Philip’s tweet, another Twitter user named Rick Louis tweeted, “Chile, I thought this said Bill Cosby! Now I gotta turn the grill off.” Likewise, another wrote that he thought it was Bill Cosby who died recently, but it was just confusion.
