An Internet personality, Scotlynd Ryan, who often caught media attention for her bold pictures, has been facing accusations in the past few months for not addressing her real ethnic identity.
Some six months ago, there was a wide reddit discussion over Scotlynd’s ancestry and her parents. A reddit user named Pen Affectionate wrote, “Her REAL father is white American, and that’s why her surname is Ryan.”
Likewise, Pen went on to claim that she had her upbringing in a black household as her step-father is African-American and her mother is Afro-Latino, suggesting that her parents separated much before.
But, at the same time, people also accused her of misguiding her audiences regarding her roots. In this regard, another reddit user wrote, “She claimed she black, Dominican and white (which, btw makes no sense since Dominicans can be of any racial background)? Why does she change her ethnicity to every commenter…“
Well, these comments clearly suggest that her ethnic background still puzzles her audiences, but what’s her real ethnic identity?
Scotlynd Ryan once wished Black History Month to her followers; Does that mean she is Black?
Recently, on February 3, Scotlynd Ryan dedicated an Instagram post to honoring Black History Month, making people assume she is a Black woman.
Beneath the post, somebody wrote, “Scotty bye you not even black,” and a make-up artist named Arianna Monique replied to it saying, “Yes she is.. her mom is legit black she came from a black womans coochie.”
Likewise, throughout the commentary section, Arianna kept insisting that Scotlynd Ryan is Black. So, we believe that the statement must have some truth in it.
Whatever her roots are, Ryan is certainly American. She was born on February 16, 1997, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
