Anna Stubblefield, who was born Margie McClennen in a Jewish family, took her ex-husband’s last name before the controversial case shattered their relationship.
Roger and Anna Stubblefield tied the knot in June 1989, when Anna was still a teenager in college, and Roger was a substitute Tuba Player at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
The couple was happily married with two children, a son, and a daughter until Anna fell in love with D.J. (Derrick Johnson), a nonverbal man with cerebral palsy.
