Cincinnati alumni Jacob Evans III signed a contract with Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) on May 9, 2024.
The 6 feet 4 inches basketball player previously worked with the NBA from 2018 to 2020 with the Golden State Warriors.
The head coach and general manager, Jordan Baker, says Jacob Evans is an asset as he has gained years of experience from NBL.
Further, the 26-year-old player also made a good impression during his early college baseball career at Cincinnati.
Jacob Evans scored 11.7 points per game in his 105-game career at Cincinnati
The former NBA player joined Cincinnati College in 2015 and actively played basketball throughout his three years of education there until 2018.
As a freshman, Jacob averaged 8.4 points per game, and later, as a sophomore, his average score improved to 13.5 points per game.
Further, he was also named first-team All-AAC as a junior and became a finalist for the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award.
Jacob Evans earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament by leading the Bearcats to a 31–5 season. After the NCAA tournament, he declared for the 2018 NBA draft.
On July 2, 2018, Jacob signed a contract with the Golden State Warriors after they drafted him in the first round with the 28th overall pick.
He was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on February 6, 2020, and to the New York Knicks on November 24, 2020.
Similarly, from 2021 to 2022, Jacob Evans played with the Santa Cruz Warriors, and after completing the season, he is now actively playing with the Edmonton Stingers.
Currently, Jacob Evans is under the hammer for owing $300k in child support even though he accumulated more than $5 million during his career.
