American Idol finalist Abi Carter took to Instagram to wish her single mother, Andrea Carter, on Mother’s Day. She added multiple photographs of the mother-daughter enjoying their trip to Disneyland.
The singer wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day to my momma :,) you have made me stronger than I ever thought I could be.”
Moreover, as she, along with Jack Blocker and Will Moseley, reached the show’s finale, Abi Carter also dedicated her top three wins to her mother, Andrea Carter.
Abi Carter is the second oldest of seven kids, all raised by her single mother!
The American Idol’s sensational singer Abi Carter was born on July 31, 2002, to her parents in Indio, California.
But talking to Desert Sun, Abi revealed that her parents separated when she was in third grade. After the split, Abi recalls her mom, Andrea Carter, having to return to school to get a degree to support them.
Besides the singer, Carter’s parents have six other kids, and Abi is the second oldest child. When Katy asked Abi if her mother raised all kids by herself, the singer replied, “Practically yes!”
So, it is no wonder Abi gives her mother full credit for what she has become now. Her mother, Andrea Andrea F. Engel Carter, has always supported Abi in her singing journey.
Per Yahoo News, Andrea gave her daughter a keyboard as a gift when she was young. Thanks to her singing and piano talents, Abi has now paved her way to the finale.
As Andrea Carter was also a singer, there are videos on YouTube where the duo sing together.
In one of the old interviews, Abi says, “My mom has always been my number one fan. She is always right beside me in every fight.”
Even when Abi auditioned for American Idol, her mother was there backstage rooting for her. That’s not it; the singer recalls having her mom by her side, be it a small or special event.
On the other hand, we could not find anything where Abi Carter talked about her father, let alone information about him.
