The former Florida State Quarterback Marcus Outzen was pronounced no more on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, as he was suffering from a devastating immunity disorder, Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) A severe, systemic inflammatory syndrome that can be fatal. This syndrome can sometimes occur in people with medical problems that cause a strong immune system activation, such as an infection or cancer.
Marcus’ son Colton Outzen notified all through his tweet in X on May 1, 2024: “Rest In Peace @MarcusOutzen. I love you so much Dad.”

Marcus was diagnosed with the disorder last year, as per the sources, and adults suffering from HLH have a time limit of around 2.8 months to 10.7 months from diagnosis.
Many of Marcus’ friends and family have come forward to offer their condolences to his wife, Tara, and his children. Former FSU teammate Bobby Rhodes and Marcus’ best friend and college roommate at FSU, Brad Dempton, were some of them.

Marcus Raymond Outzen, 46, was born on February 24, 1978, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to father Eric Marcus Outzena, 66, and mother whose name remains unknown.
He graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1996 and joined Florida State University (1996-2000) for a B.S. in communications for Business.
When Marcus became a member of the Seminoles as a quarterback for FSU, he entered his first Bowl Championship in 1999.

After graduating, Marcus entered the medical sales profession and worked as a Territory Manager from 2002 to 2008.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked as a Medical Sales Professional, Account Executive, and Executive Oncology Specialist until his last days.
Marcus was also an avid golfer and had played with some of his FSU’s former members and friends, Brad Dempton and Tampa Bay Bucs receiver Barry Smith.
As for his personal life, Marcus Outzen married his wife, Tara Michelle Outzen, who is 41 years old and lives in Saint Petersburg, Florida. They were parents to three children: Colton Outzen, Emery, and Beau.
Colton is a quarterback, receiver, and defensive back. He is a 9th grader who will graduate in 2028 and is preparing for high school.
