The Simper family is grieving the loss of their youngest son, Oak Simper, a 2-year-old toddler, who passed away on June 30, 2024, due to an accident that his parents, Marty and Jodi Simper, have not mentioned and will also be survived by his brother Stihl Simper.
Stihl Simper and Oak Simper had a 2-year gap. The older brother is currently 4 year old, having been born on August 31, 2019, while Oak was born on October 4, 2021.
Both sons were the tiniest yet biggest besties of their mother, Jodi, and the heart of their father, Marty, whose last post with his sons on June 30 made everyone even sadder.
The worst part is that Stihl could not enjoy his older brother’s role for long. He had just recently started his preschool in September 2023 and would gather with his parents and brother after school for family time.
Jodi described Stihl as the sweetest, most caring, and full of life, while Oak had the most beautiful smile that melted everyone’s heart.

The parents of sons Oak Carter and Stihl Simper were coping with the news as Jodi and Marty Simper just posted their toddler’s photo on July 4, 2024, four days after Oak’s death.
Jodi Simper is a passionate roper with a love for horses from Park Valley, Utah, similar to her husband, Marty Simper, a businessman and an AQHA World Champion horse trainer from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Marty and Jodi engaged on December 16, 2016, and married on January 28, 2017. They later had their first son, Stihl Simper, in 2019.
Their family expanded further with the birth of Oak in 2021. However, no one knew it would end so quickly.
The news of Oak Carter Simper’s passing was first posted on the Rudd Funeral Home obituary page, where the family wrote that their sweet little cowboy took his ride to heaven on June 30, 2024.
On the other side, he will join his great grandparents Norma and Pete Goacoma, Oak and Selma Simper, cousin Kolbi Rae, and Harvey and Norine Carter.
The funeral service is set for July 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Tremonton West Stake Center, and visitation is allowed the night before, on July 7, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the family home.
Shamefully, some have created fake pages and groups to livestream Oaks’s funeral, so it is better to stay away from such sites.
