As Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik barely takes off his glasses during public appearances, many people have started assuming he might have had some kind of eye injury or eyesight problems.

Further, as a successful gymnast, he had to perform various dangerous stunts, which led to various accidents and injuries on his body.

However, the 25-year-old gymnast never revealed having any kind of eye injury, though he had a catastrophic leg injury, elbow injuries, and lots of other small fractures on his body, which eventually led him to perfection.

Even though Stephen Nedoroscik did not have any eye injuries, he revealed having two different eye conditions: Coloboma and Strabismus, for which he wears glasses all the time.

Stephen Nedoroscik talked about his Strabismus, saying, “I shift my world viewpoint from one eye to the other”

Stephen Nedoroscik publicly discussed his eye condition, Strabismus, in August 2022 before being qualified for the 2024 Olympics.

He uploaded a TikTok video showing the viewers how he can quickly switch between the dominance of his eyes.

Further, he asked viewers if they had similar eye conditions to him and asked for suggestions on improving his eyesight. Similarly, he confirmed that he was looking for a doctor who could help him with it.

Years later, Stephen Nedoroscik commented on his original video saying, “I shift my world viewpoint from one eye to the other. Like one camera to another 2-inches away.

According to the research, Strabismus, also called crossed eyes, is a condition in which a person’s eyes do not look in the same direction or where both eyes move together normally.

The condition might occur from birth due to problems with the eye muscles or the brain that directs eye movements, or it may be associated with other health problems.

With this condition, people might have difficulty focusing on single objects as they often experience double visions and might have trouble with depth perception.

Further, as Doctor Glaucomflecken states in his original video, people can control the condition by wearing glasses, performing various eye exercises, or having surgery to correct eye muscles.

Further, apart from Strabismus, he also revealed having Coloboma, which is an eye condition people are born with and can affect one or both eyes.

According to the research, the condition happens when part of the tissue that makes up the eye is missing.

Due to the condition, Stephen Nedoroscik’s pupil looks like it is bleeding into the iris, leading many people to think he might have an eye injury.
