The current president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, has been wanted by various international governments and organizations as he has lots of allegations about being involved in serious crimes such as narcoterrorism, corruption, and human rights violations.

In March 2020, the US Department of Justice charged him with narcoterrorism, drug trafficking, and other criminal offenses.

According to the charges, Nicolas Maduro has been involved in trafficking illegal substances to various US states with the help of FARC, a Colombian rebel group.

Further, the US government also offered up to $15 million in rewards to the public, who are not government officers, for information leading to the arrest or convictions of Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro.

Despite the multiple charges and sanctions, Nicolas Maduro remains in power as of 2024

Throughout the years, Nicolás Maduro Moros has been charged by various organizations, including both national and international, for being involved in serious crimes.

Several countries, including Canada, the USA, and European countries, imposed sanctions on him and his close people, especially targeting their assets.

Similarly, human rights organizations also accused him of extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, and torture of political opponents.

However, even after all these charges, he is freely ruling the country as they could not gather much strong evidence to support their statements.

Further, according to the reports, as Nicolas Maduro receives support from key military figures as well as from international actors, it is not easy to gather information about his illegal business and work.

Moreover, as the president, Nicolas Maduro also has strong control over the institutions that are inside Venezuela.
