Olympic rower Nick Mead and his girlfriend Paulina Orillac, who are college sweethearts, have announced that they are soon to be married. The couple met when they both attended the prestigious Princeton University.
Paulina Orillac graduated from the university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2017.
As soon as they met in college, Paulina and Nick had a strong connection, and Nick described her as the funniest and prettiest girl.
During their tenth anniversary, Nick got down on one knee to ask her the question, and she gladly accepted. Despite the physical distance after graduation, they have had a steady relationship and have been together for almost 11 years.
The couple will marry on October 5, 2024, at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in New York, United States.

Although he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in history at Princeton, Nick Mead pursued a career in rowing and became an Olympic athlete.
Recently, he and his team won the Paris Olympic gold medal in rowing for the USA for the first time in six decades. After their achievement, the US Team named Nick Mead as one of the two flag bearers.
With a family history of rowing, the athlete took up the sport as a freshman at Princeton. His father, Philip Mead, was also a rower at Princeton, and his mother, Carolyn Mead, and brother, Loren Mead, were both rowers at Penn.
In his first Olympic Games in 2020, he placed fourth with a team of eight, and he has now placed first with a team of four.
As the 2024 Paris Olympics close, he and Katie Ledecky have been named flagbearers of the US Team, which is a great honor to any athlete.
Nick has been sharing his excitement on social media, and many have congratulated him and Ledecky following this news.
