At the age of 15, Louise-Aina Taboulet, also known as Nana Taboulet, became an Olympic athlete, pursuing her passion for skateboarding.
Born in France on July 9, 2009, Nana Taboulet has traveled to various other countries for skateboarding competitions.
Nana Taboulet developed a passion for skateboarding at a young age and has dedicated herself to the sport ever since.
At just 13 years old, Nana Taboulet placed 7th in the qualifications for the World Skateboard Park Championships, held in Sharjah, UAE. Her family actively supports her athletic endeavors, accompanying her to most competitions.
Her parents are also athletic people, with her mother and father both excelling in windsurfing. Not only this, her maternal grandfather also owns a sailing school.
Although they were unable to attend the Olympic qualifications match in Budapest, the “Wesh family,” as they call themselves, is actively rooting for her in the Olympic games.
On participating in the Olympics, the skateboarder says, “Obviously, I dream of a medal! My goal is to make a final for now.“
Nana Taboulet did not qualify for the finals in the Paris Olympics
In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Nana Taboulet finished 21st place in the skateboarding park event, meaning she did not qualify for the finals.
Although this disappointments her, she is met with love and support from her family and hometown.
A video of the residents of Leucate cheering her on from her parents’ windsurfing club is gaining popularity on the internet.
Nana has received support from her well-wishers and criticism from netizens for her performance at the Paris Olympics.
In a post on Twitter announcing her elimination from the Olympics, a user says, “The risk of selecting kids with no experience or mental strength in these new Olympic sports.” Another user commented, “And this is an “Olympic” discipline???“
Although netizens haven’t been the kindest with regard to her Olympic games, her achievements as a skateboarder cannot be denied.
Nana Taboulet alongside her parents and trainers are working very hard for improvement, and are hopeful to see her in the next Olympics as well.
