The last surviving original member of The Moody Blues, Mike Pinder, left the world on April 24, 2024, as confirmed by his son, Michael Lee Pinder, in a Facebook post.
Mike Pinder was an English rock musician and keyboard player famously known as the Godfather of The Moody Blues, who was 82 when he died.
He was born on December 27, 1941, in Erdington, Birmingham, and had his devoted family by his side when he died peacefully on Wednesday at his home in Northern California.
Before the news of the singer passing away, fans worried that Mike had been away from socials for a long time. They wondered if he had any health problems and kept his life private.
Now, with the news, fans cannot wait to know the cause of Mike Pinder’s death to stop the rumors circulating about the English musician’s demise.
Rumors circulate: Mike Pinder had cognitive problems as per his Hall of Fame 2018 Induction speech!
Believing that the Mellotron master Mike Pinder is no more was hard for fans, but now that the news is confirmed, they want to know the cause of death.
The first rumors surfacing online is that Mike Pinder had Alzheimer’s or Dementia, as fans discuss on Reddit.
They are taking hints from the words of John Lodge, a guitarist and vocalist of The Moody Blues, during the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
They said John Lodge was not giving Mike Pinder a chance to be the inductee, as the footage showed him pushing Mike.
Fans implied John mentioned something about Mike being forgetful and inactive due to health issues. This led to the rumor that Mike Pinder had a cognitive illness.
However, Mike Pinder clearly explained why he did not address the fans during the 2018 Hall of Fame ceremony: “Many MB fans have asked why I did not speak at the induction, but by the time the Moodies took the stage, we were five hours into the ceremony….. As I have said for the last thirty years, the fans are my hall of fame.”
Also, Michael Lee Pinder mentioned that Mike passed peacefully encircled by music and his loving family, which included his three sons and wife.
Mike Pinder married Donna Roth and had his eldest son, Daniel. However, things did not go well, as he divorced and married his second wife, Tara Lee, with whom he had two sons, Matt and Michael Lee.
Nevertheless, none of the family of Mike Pinder has mentioned the 82-year-old singer suffering from any illness or health problems, so it is better to wait for the news from his family.
May Mike Pinder’s gentle soul rest in peace. We at Superslice send our regards to his family.
