The news of Sergeant Mike McCaffrey losing his daughter Samantha in a tragic firearm incident orchestrated by Douglass Barnes as revenge is going viral in TikTok.
On Sunday, May 26, 2024, a TikTok account with the username @TheRealDax.news released a detailed coverage of the incident with a title suggesting revenge homicide at Prom.
However, the credibility of the information remains largely unknown as there is no other coverage of the incident from the local Livonia news outlets.
Regardless, it has gone viral online, making many question the justice system of the nation.
The firearm homicide Livonia news seems fake!
On Friday, May 24, 2024, Douglass Barnes was arrested for the homicide of Mike McCaffrey’s daughter, Samantha, at Livonia High School, as per the post.
Samantha was apparently stepping out of her limousine when Douglass started firing which caused her demise on the spot. After that, instead of running away, Douglass sat there shouting, “An eye for an eye,” while waiting for the police.
It went on to explain that it was an act of revenge that happened four years prior when Sergeant Mike McCaffrey allegedly took the life of Douglass Barnes’ 19-year-old son, Gino Barnes, during a traffic stop.
Although the confrontation began over expired tags, it escalated and became serious, eventually compelling Mike to open fire when Gino reached for a glove box to retrieve his insurance information.
In 2020 Sergeant Mike McCaffrey, fatally shot 19 year old Gino Barnes who allegedly reached for his insurance documents which ultimately cost him his life (stopped over expired tags)…….

As the sergeant was acquitted of all charges, Gino’s father, Douglass Barnes, vowed to take justice into his own hands, hence the recent firearm incident. Moreover, the news description in the post went on about the views of Livonia locals regarding the incident.
Given the severity of the crime, there is no other coverage from the big news outlets.
Furthermore, there is no announcement from the school or Livonia Police Department about the news as of now.
Thus, many are calling out that the news is fake. One user wrote, “I live in Michigan and this was never on the news.”
Though the credibility of the news remains questionable, it has caused an uproar online about the American Justice system.
While some blame the Sergeant for his misuse of power, others point out that his daughter had nothing to do with it.
Yeah I was looking to get that story verified and just as suspected, it’s probably fake. Sad that social media has come to me having to take these lengths to get the truth.
Thanks Alex
There are many fake things on the internet Justin, Calm down.
Truth or false, i like a good story. It sounds extreme, but sounds I like a good ending.
Truth or not it may help police to think twice before killing people in their own homes! the body cam show looked real or it was placed there to make it more real, But these things happed many time already, there is one years ago where a Marine was killed in his home by happy police! that was Facts!
