The thing that caught people’s attention was the price of the pillow, $14.88, which people have been interpreting as a nazi dog whistle.
According to the research, the number 1488 has an association with white supremacist groups, where the number 14 refers to a white supremacist slogan while the 88 is shorthand for Heil Hitler.
To be more precise, number 14 refers to the phrase, “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children,” while the 88 is shorthand for Heil Hitler as H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, making 88 a coded reference to the Nazi salute.
