Three years after marrying her husband, Yado Yakub, an American journalist, Margaret Brennan announced her first pregnancy during her appearance on Stephen Colbert’s show on April 30, 2018.
Five months later, on September 11, she gave birth to her elder child, Eamon Brennan Yakub. Likewise, her family further expanded when Margaret welcomed Malek on April 28, 2021.
She shared the good news via Instagram: “We’re thrilled to share that our son Malek Murphy Yakub joined us this past week and expanded our family to a party of four.”
Now, her kids are ages 5 and 3. Since they are still children, their mischievousness keeps Margaret busier than ever.

While discussing her CBS career, she also discussed her personal life as a mother of two boys and said, “Life is beautifully chaotic: toys everywhere, mostly matchbox cars, because I’m a boy mom.”
Further, the happy mother distinguished between her two sons, stating her elder one is ‘Cerebral,’ and the little one is ‘Physical.’
As a mother, Margaret undoubtedly raises her children to her utmost potential. But as her husband Yado is a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps, Margaret appears to be handling her kids both at home and during her office hours. Also, People wrote, “she’s plenty warm off camera.”
The name of Margaret Brennan’s children is a tribute to their ethnic roots
Many of you might feel that Margaret sons’ name is slightly different from the children of the United States. Well, it is.
Margaret has her roots in Ireland, and her husband Yakub’s are in Syria. They intentionally named their children, paying homage to their ethnic backgrounds.
Both her sons’ names, Eamon and Malek, honored the Syrian-American and Irish-American heritage. Eamon signifies ‘guardian’ in Irish and ‘righteous’ in Arabic. Likewise, Malek means ‘King’ in Arabic or Persian.
