Linda Sun, a former deputy chief diversity officer in the administration of New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, is originally from China but moved to the USA with her parents at a young age.
Linda Sun, 41, was born around 1983 in China, where her Chinese name is Sūn Wén. After she moved to the US with her parents, she became a permanent resident there.

She received an undergraduate degree in political science from Barnard College in 2006, and for the master’s, she joined Columbia University and earned a degree in education.
Further, she has established her family in the US with her husband, Chris Hu, 40, a businessman, and the couple is living a luxurious life in the US.

Authorities had arrested Chinese-American native Linda Sun and her husband, Christopher Hu, on charges of acting as agents of the Chinese government.
Linda Sun had become the governor’s deputy chief of staff after a 14-year career.
From 2018 to 2020, Sun served as the deputy chief diversity officer in the administration of New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, and from 2021 to 2022, she worked under the lawyer and politician Kathy Hochul’s administration as deputy chief of staff to his successor.

However, in September 2024, a US indictment accused Linda Sun, claiming as a New York state government aide, she has been secretly helping the Chinese government to access an official call about COVID-19.
The accusation also includes that, as an undercover agent for Beijing, the Chinese government provided them millions of dollars in return, from which she is living a luxurious in the US with her husband.

Further, their assets include a $2.1 million ocean-view condominium in Honolulu, Hawaii, luxury vehicles, a 2024 Ferrari Roma sports car, and Long Island worth between US$3.6 million and US$4.1 million, among others.
Similarly, in September 2024, Linda Sun and her husband Christopher Hu, who operated a seafood business and a financial consulting firm, were charged with violating and conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registrations Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling, and money laundering conspiracy.
However, on September 3, 2024, the couple pleaded not guilty to all the charges in a Brooklyn federal court.
