The entire thing began in January 2020 after a Finnish Redditor, TonstaH, posted on a platform revealing that she had brought fabric curtains from a local store with pop-art style illustrations.

However, the mystery surrounding the celebrity number 6 persisted as the image couldn’t be matched with anyone. Many thought the image didn’t belong to an actual human but a reimagined version of a lady.
This led to the creation of the subreddit r/CelebrityNumberSix, where users from all over tried to find the identity of the mystery figure but failed each time while the speculation about the gender and origin of the image.
According to a famous poll on the thread, 65% of the members believed the image was of a female model, whereas the remaining 35% thought it belonged to a man.
After four years of constant research, the answer came forward. The image belonged to Spanish model Leticia Sarda Tovar, whose personal details remain unknown, including her family, age, and current whereabouts.

Soon after the initial Reddit post, many theorized that the photo was taken during the model’s teenage, given the young facial features.
Previously, users tried to match the mystery face with celebrities like Diane Kruger, Shalom Harlow, Jayne Windsor, and Natasha Poly. However, the features weren’t perfect, which pushed user StefanMorse to color the image and put it on Pimeyes.
Pimeyes is facial recognition software that publishes images that match precisely any image. The software suggested Leticia as one of the first few people, as the first one was Ana Paula.
After finding the image, the Redditors dedicated themselves to finding the photographer who took the original image for the Spanish magazine. They soon met Leandre Escorsell and shared an email to confirm Leticia’s identity.

Escorsell identified the image and replied to the email, “It is the face of one of the photographs I took for the Woman magazine editorial with Leticia. I don’t know who used this image, without authorization, I think…, to use it on fabric.“
Similarly, he shared numerous photos of Leticia taken for the magazine, including a recent one where the model carried her photo, which kept netizens busy for more than four years. This also helped them estimate that Leticia might be in her mid-30s currently.
The Reddit user took permission from the photographer to share the information with everyone in the community as it was a celebratory finding for the people. They had previously contacted the fabric company to learn about Laticia’s background.
Now, others rejoice with StefanMorse, IndigoRoom, and TonstaH for putting a satisfactory end to the celebrity mystery. As one user wrote, “The amount of hours and energy so many have spent looking into this very niche subject is so sweet in a way.“
