In the 2024 CrossFit Games, Lazar Dukic appeared to be fully prepared, as he had strong practice for the Event 1 game with his brother Luka Dukic.
In the Instagram video shared by his brother almost a week ago, Lazar Dukic and Luka Dukic were practicing for the CrossFit game, and they appeared to be running and swimming.
Through the caption, Luka Dukic confirmed preparing for the Event 1 game, writing, “Did possible route for Event 1 of the @crossfitgames this morning with the shark” while also mentioning that “Final prep is going down in Forth Worth.“
However, despite the hardworks and practice, Lazar Dukic could not make it through the event 1 game, as he lost his life in the swim event on the first day of the CrossFit Games.
After Lazar Dukic’s tragic demise during the game, many people paid condolences to his family, especially to his brother Luka Dukic, who was watching his game throughout the whole time.

Four-time CrossFit Games athlete Lazar Dukic used to share a strong bond with his brother Luka Dukic, who is also pursuing the same profession.
A day ago, the tragic incident took place; Lazar Dukic shared a photo with his brother on his official Instagram post with a long, heartwarming caption that reads, “Blood is not water, from the cradle to the grave, my soulmate, my brother. Blood is not water; people of the same breed, he will never sell me, my brother.“
Lazar Dukic’s brother, Luka Dukic, also participated in the 2024 CrossFit Games and ranked fifth-highest worldwide.
Further, both brothers participated in the 2024 CrossFit and competed together; however, watching his brother lose tragically left Luka shattered. Therefore, many people are sending prayers for Luka to stay strong in this difficult situation.
An Instagram user commented on the same post, writing, “Rest easy, man, you didn’t deserve that. People on paddle boards are too busy looking at the finish line instead of the athletes in front of them.“
