Jimi Richard Wanjigi, or Jimmy, is a Kenyan chief executive of the Kwacha Group of Companies whose net worth and fame rose significantly after his political involvement as a strategist.
As of 2024, Jimmy is on the list of billionaires in Africa despite no publicly available or verified statement of his net worth. However, he has accumulated his fortune as his company has interests in various sectors of the economy, including agribusiness, financial services, and real estate.
Using his expertise and knowledge, he has established a name in the business environment, adding much to his worth.
The LAST thing Jimmy Wanjigi has told Yvonne Okwara at Citizen Tv is that we will have elections before 2027 and they will invite him again to the interview for that.

Moroever, Jimmy started his formal career in his early twenties after returning from university as he co-founded Kenya’s first private garbage collection company, BINS Limited.
Looking at his luxurious lifestyle, many estimated that his net worth ranged around $100 million, but the ownership of a billion-shilling mansion in Muthaiga proved his billion-dollar value.
His net worth hasn’t saved Jimmy Wanjigi from being surrounded by several political controversies!
Growing up, Jimmy had political influence in his household as his father, Maina Wanjigi, is a former Kamukunji MP and cabinet minister.
Further, he started his political alliance in 1992 at Kenya’s first multi-party elections, being involved in Matiba’s election campaigns.
This pushed Jimmy to stay active in politics for years to come. He played a vital role in the general elections, brokering peace between Paila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013. However, in 2017, he shifted his political stand to Odinga, receiving a public backlash, including a travel blockade and a 3-day Kenyan police assault on his Mauthaiga mansion.

During the stressful time, Jimmy’s wife, Irene Nzisa, shared a clip of armed force sweeping their home as she pleaded, “Don’t shoot me” multiple times. Later, the politician appeared in court to stop his arrest.
Jimmy had to deal with another unfortunate event in 2018 when the Daily Nation posted a fake obituary of the politician, hampering his public image.
The politician sued the media house for making a politically motivated death threat, getting Shs. 8 million as damage control, which roughly converts to $2k.
Such incidents significantly helped Jimmy gain public support as he continued expanding his business, earning more fortune to add to his net worth.
