According to several speculations, Harmony of the Seas reported a tragic incident that caused the company to delay its boarding schedule and close its terminal for several days from September 8, 2024.
Conversations about the incident sparked when Royal Caribbean International, which owns Harmony of the Seas, released a public notice updating their fellow passengers about the sudden issue.
The company revealed that an emergency in their previous sailing caused the terminal to close until noon. Moreover, they requested passengers to arrive one hour after their pre-selected arrival time for the journey from Galveston and thanked everyone for their cooperation.
However, as people started to look for the cause of the delay, they found that a 12-year-old had reportedly passed away after falling from the Central Park area of Harmony of the Seas.

According to unconfirmed sources, the child fell from the ship’s balcony, approximately five floors above the ground. Despite receiving immediate medical assistance, the child didn’t survive.
The victim was on the cruise with his family, who were supposedly traveling back home for a birthday celebration. However, the family hasn’t provided a public statement during this difficult time.
Despite much speculation, neither Harmony of the Seas nor official news portals have reported on the incident, creating confusion among netizens.

After a YouTuber reported on the incident, many on board came forward to explain what happened to the 12-year-old, and the video gained over 4.6k views in a day.
One of the users noted that they got off the cruise the same morning of the incident but didn’t notice any chaos or medical assistance. However, they mentioned hearing the Code Alpha as the cruise had three other codes on the cruise.
As the speculations piled up, the issue of how the 12-year-old fell from such a height came forward when another viewer questioned if the child inflicted the tragic incident on himself.
Soon, another one noted that the railings were high enough for anyone to fall over them easily. They wrote, “I heard some people say on the balcony there were 2 chairs pushed up against the glass so the kid was either doing something he shouldn’t have been or chose to jump.“
Meanwhile, others claimed that the child was horseplaying with some friends before tripping over Central Park’s railings. The weather on the day of the incident wasn’t good, making it challenging to learn the actual cause or reason.
Amidst the tragedy, people have erupted in a massive online backlash against the Harmony of the Seas regarding safety on the waters, as this isn’t the first mishap on the cruise where innocent lives have been lost.
