A series of missing posts related to Graci Mae Thompson has raised questions in the Texas community, but no credible information is available to help the case.
The posting started around 8 August 2024, when Facebook users Tyler Hudson, Ramon L. DeStefano, and several country sales pages discussed the 15-year-old Graci Mae Thompson.
Further, the posts wrote, “My daughter has been missing since July 22nd! 15 days. It only takes two seconds to share!” along with Thompson’s description, which included her age, height, weight, and hair color.
The post also included two pictures of a young girl: one inside a car and another a black-and-white photo, but there is no way to verify if those belong to Thompson.
Thompson was last seen in black shorts and a black shirt, which were mentioned in the viral posts. The posts quickly garnered the sympathy and concern of Facebook users, as they have more than 200 shares on some accounts.
However, things didn’t add up, as the locations on each post differed. Some claimed that Thompson was missing in Columbia Gorge or Hudson, while others claimed the child disappeared from Stockton or Pickens County.
As we delved deeper into the case, it seems that Graci Mae Thompson didn’t go missing from Texas as the initial posts suggested.
As Facebook users pointed out, Thompson’s missing case is potentially a scam!
Soon after the first post hit the internet, people joined forces to find more details on Thompson, but nothing was available about the child or her family.
Further, as the shares started to pile up on posts from pages like Stuff For Sale, Upper/Lower Kittitas County Auction, and Odessa Texas Trading Post, it raised questions about the credibility of the information.
A Facebook user also argued about several scams involving missing persons that have been going around in Texas and surrounding states.
Another page, NewsHubb Update, also clarified that Thompson had been found safe after her report on July 22.
Going back to the initial posts, they never mentioned the police department responsible for contact or any news stories or updates for cross-reference to check if Thompson had been safely located.
At the end of the post, the user mentioned, “We definitely want to make sure nobody falls victim to these kinds of human beings who use other people’s pain to help increase their gain.“
Also, make sure to check facts, as the case is going viral with different misnomers of Graci, like Gracie and Grace Mae Thompson.
