In 2015, New Jersey listed George Norcross, then 58, on the 41st number as the state’s wealthiest person, with a net worth of around $250 million.

George Norcross was born on March 16, 1956, to well-educated parents, father George E. Norcross, Jr, and mother Ann Carol Conner Norcross.
His father was active in the Camden community and chaired the United Way board. He also served on the board of Cooper University Hospital.
His father helped him to start a small insurance company in Camden after he dropped out of Rutgers University in the late 1970s.

With his father’s reference, he met the city’s mayor, who appointed him to the city’s parking authority, giving him a government job.
However, he becomes financially successful after his involvement in politics.
George served as the chairman of Camden County’s Democratic Association for six years, from 1989 to 1995.
After that, he served many years on the Democratic National Committee and worked there until 2021.
George is currently the chairman of the board of Cooper Health System, where his father served from 1976 to 1983.
He is also on the boards of the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and Cooper University Hospital, both based in Camden.
Further, he has worked at Conner Strong & Buckelew firm as the executive chairman of insurance, risk management, and employee benefits brokerage since 1979.

Along with his business career, he was very much involved in investments as he was announced as one of the local investors in The Camden Waterfront in September 2015.
George reported investing $50 million in the Camden waterfront project. In March 2017, he announced that his company would relocate there as part of a $245 million development.
