The notorious drug baron and leader of Sinaloa Cartel, a prominent international crime organization, Ismael El Mayo Zambada, is recently captured in Texas, United States, along with Joaquin Guzman Lopez, son of ‘El Chapo’ Guzman on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
El Mayo, 76, and Joaquin Guzman Lopez, son of the former leader of Sinaloa Cartel, who is currently serving a life sentence in an ADX Florence prison, are currently in custody.
Although the initial reports said that the offenders were captured after landing from a private plane, new reports suggested that El Mayo turned himself into North American authorities.
Furthermore, Both El Mayo and Guzman Lopez were facing multiple charges in the U.S. for leading the Sinaloa Cartel’s illegal operations, including fentanyl manufacturing and trafficking networks.
The Sinaloa Cartel was selling substances to more than 50 countries around the world and is one of the most powerful crime groups in Mexico.
Likewise, El Mayo is not the only active leader in running his business; his children have been supporting him in building the business for years.
His wife, Rosario Niebla Cardoza, has supported El Mayo in his personal and business matters for over 50 years.

El Mayo met his wife Rosario, a teenage girl born on October 6, 1946, in El Dorado, Culiacan Sinaloa, when he was 12 years old.
After years of dating, the couple married in 1965, both in church and in a civil ceremony, when El Mayo was 17 and Rosario 19.
Furthermore, two years after their marriage, the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel started involving himself in the illegal business, and his wife helped him build the business.
The couple gave birth to five children, including four daughters, Maria Teresa, Midiam Patricia, Monica del Rosario, and Modesta, and a son, Vicente, alias El Vicentillo.
All his daughters and sons have also played an active role in running his business. However, despite involving themself in their father’s illegal business, El Mayo’s daughter has higher education degrees.
According to infobae, Midiam and Monica have a Business Administration degree from Autonomous University of Sinaloa. Their youngest daughter Modesta has a law degree from Center for University Studies in Culiacan.
Furthermore, Maria Teresa worked as an educator in early childhood institutions, whereas their son Vicent followed in his father’s footsteps and is currently serving time behind bars.
