Renowned German and American s*x therapist Dr. Ruth, who passed away on July 12, 2024, at age 96, is survived by her two children, Miriam Westheimer and Joel Westheimer, and four grandchildren.
Dr Ruth, whose full name is Karola Ruth Siegel, welcomed her two children from two different marriages.
Dr Ruth Westheimer had her first child, a daughter named Miriam Westheimer, with her second husband, a Frenchman.

Later, she divorced her second husband after a couple of years and married her third husband, Manfred Westheimer, with whom she welcomed a son named Joel Westheimer, born on March 24, 1963.
Further, her first marriage was with an Israeli soldier, whom she says was the first guy to ask her to marry.
However, due to the couple’s busy job, their marrige broke out before having any children.

She served in various positions, including founding executive director, international director, board president, project manager, and organizational and educational consultant, and garnered colossal experience.
She has been serving full-time as a Chief Pedagogical Officer for HIPPY (C.Y.) International for almost five years since joining in November 2019.
On the other hand, Dr Ruth’s 61-year-old son, Dr. Joel Westheimer, who received PhD from Stanford, serves as an education columnist for CBC Radio.
Further, he is also the University Research Chair in Democracy and Education at the University of Ottawa.
Dr Ruth’s children and grandchildren have their own successful careers, making her grandmother proud.

In 2021, Dr Ruth confirmed that she had four grandchildren, of which she was proud. Becoming a grandmother was so special for Dr. Ruth that she even wrote a graphic novel, Roller Coaster Grandma, in 2018.
Further, she mentioned that her grandchildren were the reason she was still alive. She said, “I look into the faces of my grandchildren Ari and Leora; there is an added reason for my heart to rejoice.“
