It has been three days since the missing TV doctor, Michael Mosley, made the news. On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, he was last seen in shorts, a blue polo shirt, and a baseball cap near the coastal walk in St Nicholas Beach, the Greek island of Symi.
Michael Mosley was on holiday with his wife, Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley, and his four children: sons Alex, Dan, Jack, and daughter Kate.
Clare found that something was off when her husband did not return from his walk, which started at around 1:30 p.m. and lasted almost 6 hours. She said the distance of the walk was just 20 minutes to the center of the island.
So, at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Clare alarmed the Greek police, who have since been unable to track Michael Mosley’s exact location.
The local police even deployed fire officers, helicopters, and a thermal imaging drone on Thursday to help the search in case he may have slipped, fallen, or bitten by a snake, remaining injured somewhere, as any possibility seems to be the case given Michael Mosley has not been found till Friday.
Meanwhile, the local mayor points out that the rising heatwave is supposed to reach 48°C and mentions that maybe the TV doctor fainted somewhere, so the search is still on.
Michael Mosley had diabetes, which seemed to be genetic from his father
The One Show star Michael Mosley is 67 years old, born on March 22, 1957, to parents mother Joan Mosley and father Bill Mosley in Kolkata, India.
He is a British national and is one of four children of Bill and Joan: older brother John, younger sister Susie, and younger brother.
Michael’s mother, Joan, is a Christian who was born to a bishop’s father and a Catholic mother. However, Michael is a non-believer. He calls himself an agnostic who lost his faith while studying philosophy.
As for his father, Bill, he is no more. Michael mentioned that his father had Type 2 diabetes in his fifties and sadly passed away at 74 due to complications, mainly heart failure.
Surprisingly, Michael Mosley also had Type 2 diabetes in 2012, at the same age as his father, repeating the history.
He was unaware of the situation initially, but his internal organs were gradually gaining weight, and the diagnosis came when he did a blood test.
Thankfully, Michael surpassed his health issues just by controlling his weight through an intermittent fasting diet. This was when he decided to work on his book The Fast 800 Keto.
Michael also mentioned that because of diabetes history, none of the males in his family had ever reached beyond the age of 74.
But he was confident that he would make it beyond that, as most of the online calculators showed he would make it to at least 84.
Michael Mosley even became a part of mindfulness-based techniques to measure his brain’s electrical activity to see the effect of complementary medicines to treat depression and anxiety, although he was not suffering from any mental health issues.
However, all these memories of Michale are now hitting hard as his wife and children are anxiously looking for the presenter and hope that he will return soundly.
