The shooting at the Butler, Pennsylvania, during the rally of former President Donald Trump on July 13, 2024, led to his right ear injury, but sadly it also resulted in the demise of a dad, a firefighter, and husband, Corey Comperatore.
Corey Comperatore, a former fire chief of Buffalo Township Volunteer Company, was at the scene with his family: wife Helen Comperatore and daughters Allyson and Kaylee.
When he heard the sound of the gunfire, Corey instantly jumped to shield his family, which eventually got him shot in the head.
The situation became gloomy when his sister, Dawn Comperatore Schafer, described the news further on her Facebook post, which has now been deleted.
She stated that her brother Corey was a family man and a hero, and it was sad to hear about her brother’s death through the news.
Corey Comperatore’s family are doing terrible after the sudden attack
The 50-year-old firefighter Corey Comperatore was born on June 14, 1974, to parents mother Karen Schafer Bird and father, whose name remains unknown.
He was a native of Sarver, Pennsylvania, where he lived with his family, including his wife, Helen Comperatore, and was a proud “girl dad.”
Corey Comperatore and his wife Helen Comperatore married on July 22, almost 29 years ago, in 1995.
Per her LinkedIn profile, Helen Comperatore is a Certified Recovery Specialist at Foundations Medical Services. She has also worked as an integrative nutrition-health coach at OPTAVIA since 2019 and continues to this day.
Helen and Corey are parents to two daughters: eldest, Allyson Comperatore, reportedly 27, and another daughter, Kaylee Comperatore, reportedly 24.
His family also includes his sisters, Kelly Comperatore Meeder and Dawn Comperatore Schafer, brother-in-law, nieces, and nephews, who emotionally support Helen and their children.
All family members are in Corey and Helen’s house in Sarver, 30 miles from Pittsburgh. Dozens of long-stem roses lie on the lawn, while his brother-in-law, George Scott, stepped out to update everyone about the family’s situation, which he said is terrible.
Later, Helen and her second daughter, Kaylee, came forward to post their picture with Corey on July 14, 2024, on their respective Facebook pages, as he was their everything.
