The authorities have arrested the 14-year-old Colt Gray after injuring nine and taking the lives of four people at Georgian school, Apalachee High. However, his aunt, Annie Polhamus Brown, has been adamant on Facebook, claiming that the police are mistreating Colt Gray.
After the mass incident, Georgia police arrived at the school, which escalated things as Brown started her posts on Facebook, explaining the horrors that Gray had to go through on a daily basis.
Initially, Brown pleaded to get through with the GBI as she wasn’t scared of the authorities responsible for her nephew’s criminal processing.
Through her post, she wrote, “I WILL NOT leave my nephew standing alone!!! When Uvalde happened, I told my own children that only hurt people hurt people.”
Colt Gray's aunt posted on Facebook in response to the shooting at #ApalacheeHighSchool. According to her posts, mom (Marcee Gray) had a history of addiction and was recently in jail. Mom's fb posts also indicate she was a victim of domestic abuse. pic.twitter.com/dRNRg9EnMT

Moreover, Brown had been doing all things in her capacity to protect Gray and his siblings from an abusive household, as their parents often fought while their mother dealt with substance abuse.
As the legal proceedings began, she didn’t back down on her posts and uploaded, “They are charging my 14yo nephew as an adult, for m*rder. Y’all ready to see Polhamus blood in full throttle? Nah, I wouldn’t be either.“
Such comments from his aunt only directed hate towards Colt Gray, as authorities revealed that they had visited the convict in May 2023 and interviewed his family following threats posted by the child online.
Brown claimed that Colt Gray wasn’t in a good place, as his mother often threatened to harm him and his siblings!
Following a string of posts, Annie Polhamus Brown, the aunt of Colt Gray, started revealing the family troubles and explained that Gray’s mother, Marcee, had recently been bailed out of jail by his grandparents. Marcee also went to rehab for several months before her husband got her out.
Likewise, Marcee stayed with Gray and his siblings for a few weeks before the issue started, bringing her back to her parent’s house in Fitzgerald.
During one of her fits, Gray’s mother destroyed all of Brown’s belongings and stole money from her parents for illegal substances. She tied her mother for 24 hours when she tried to interfere in her work.
Moreover, Brown claimed that she has photo evidence of Google searches and private conversations between Marcee and her dealers, including hand-written notes with records of monetary transactions.
Meanwhile, as the case progresses, people have criticized the Georgia police for not taking any precautions when they interviewed Colt Gray previously.
However, at the time, he was living with his father, who assured him that the child didn’t have access to a firearm.
Gray denied posting threats and firearm pictures online, which provided the authorities with minimal grounds to arrest him at the time.
Despite her support for her nephew, Brown has claimed, “I WILL NOT disrespect other parents and families that are dealing with this tragedy on the opposite end. They DID NOT DESERVE THIS!!!“
After the horrifying incident, Gray’s other family have been targeted by the victim’s family and their supporters, as his grandmother received a comment that read, “Get him in jail. Prayers for everyone affected by this tragedy.”
